The Ride and Hike Experiences in the Cave

An experience unlike anything else in the area.

Yes, we have two different experiences for you. We know that not everyone is able to ride a bike on trails, which is why we created an adventure that can also be done on foot.

These are not just a bike ride or a boring walk ; these are part of the first, most amazing and unique project of its kind. Located at the heart of the Riviera Maya. Here, the mountain biking adrenaline or the hiking experience, merges with the ancient magic of the natural underworld. You will descend into a natural hidden world and explore the underground landscape in natural caves. During these 3–4 hours, you will experience it.

 

WHAT DOES THE ADVENTURE INCLUDE?

  • Underground Ride: if you choose our RIDE IN THE CAVE experience, Explore trails designed to flow through the limestone, riding through 3 cave systems. The route is adapted to all groups, from recreational enthusiasts to experienced cyclists

  • Hiking Exploration: As we also offer our HIKE IN THE CAVE experience, it is designated for those who aren't skilled at riding bikes, (bicycle riders will also leave the bikes for a while) to walk through narrow passages and hidden chambers, discovering the unique geology of the Peninsula. Don't forget that your shoes will get wet

  • Professional Guides and Equipment: We'll equip all adventures with helmets, and lighting systems. For the RIDE IN THE CAVE riders, you will also have an Aluminum 29er Hardtail 1x10 Mountain Bike w/Disc brakes. Our guides are not only experts at mountain biking, but also passionate about local history and nature, and will help you with your photographs

  • During this experience, you'll have: water, muesly bars and fruit. You'll also have the option to include food after the cave experience. Not yet, but soon you will have the option to rent a GoPro, or stay overnight at our magnificent location.

  • Families and active groups: Looking for a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience. - This is a RESERVATION ONLY experience: As this is a private natural area where we strive to respect the flora and fauna to the fullest extent, we operate with small groups to guarantee your safety and the preservation of the caves.

  • Prepare to be amazed: Remember that you're here through a living ecosystem; Every pedal stroke you take or every step you give is a privilege. If you're looking for something different from conventional parks and want to feel like a true explorer, this is the place for you. It's ideal.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Adventure Duration: 3-4 Hours

  • Group Size:

    • Minimum Capacity: 4 pax. (You may go with other visitors to complete the minimum capacity

    • Max Capacity: 10 pax. (For more pax, we split in more groups)

  • Minimum Age:

    • Ride in the Cave: The age limit is 8-10 years, capable to ride our smallest 27.5” bike size: 13.5 (XS) and that can be able to ride the bike between 12 to 13 kilometers (7.5 to 8.5 miles)

    • Hike in the Cave: The age limit is 8 years, capable to walk a +/- 10-kilometer (6.5 mile) hike

    • Minors (under age 15) are not allowed on a cave tour without a parent or guardian.

  • All Weather Experience: Most of the experience takes place within a cave system, where the temperature remains around 22–24°C (71–75°F) year-round, making it possible to enjoy the activity whether it is raining or sunny.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE CAVE EXPERINCE

  • Footwear: Non-slip, tennis shoes, low-heeled walking, trail running, hiking shoes or boots are required (be aware that you will get them wet or muddy). Sandals and open shoes are forbidden.

  • Clothing: Comfortable sport, hiking or cycling clothing is recommended. Bring Comfortable clothes (T-shirt or blouse with sleeves).

  • Insect repellent: Biodegradable insect repellent. Although there are no mosquitoes of any kind inside the caves, we will walk through a couple of kilometers of jungle to enter and exit the caverns.

  • Extra dry clothes:  Don't forget to bring a small towel and a change of dry clothes and shoes.

  • Small backpack or waist pack / belt bag: If you want to take you mobile phone or a small camera, please use one of these, don’t leave them in your pockets, it might fall down.

  • Mobil phones: Inside the caves, there is no mobile phone coverage, Wi-Fi, or internet access, nor is there a GPS signal. Please keep in mind that your phone will only be useful for taking photos and videos.

 

RESTRICTIONS TO PROTECT THE UNDERGROUND ECOSYSTEM

  • No food of any kind, drinks (just simple water), candy, gum, mints, and tobacco products are not allowed in the cave.

  • Purses, packs, mid-big sizes backpacks. Also, specific backpack types like metal-framed or child carriers are prohibited to take to the caverns.

  • For safety reasons, items such as speakers, headphones, earphones, and jewelry are not allowed in the cave. You may leave your belongings securely at the meeting point (we don't have an "item rescue team")

  • Walking sticks, tripods, and monopods are not allowed.

  • Strollers are not allowed.

  • Pets are not allowed.

HEALTH AND SAFETY NOTES

  • Physical Requirements: Moderate-to-high level of physical fitness, good balance, compounded by the intense tropical heat and humidity of the Riviera Maya. Appropriate for travelers who are physically fit, expect a vigorous pace and enjoy participating in three to four hours of physical activity

  • Physical Fitness: Strenuous or cave tours may not be suitable for individuals with pregnancy, health conditions, overweight, recent surgeries, or mobility issues. Good physical condition is recommended.

  • Phobias: Visitors with cave phobia, claustrophobia, speluncaphobia, achluophobia and/or nyctophobia should consider not to take the tour
